This client had a flower bed spanning the length of the tennis court that was bare and overgrown with weeds. We were asked to design and install a perennial garden with the added challenge of only using plants that the deer would not eat. The intention was to create a meadow that bloomed continuously from late Spring up until the first frost, evolved with the seasons, and to provide a food source that attracts a multitude of pollinators.
We gradually took over all of the beds and have planted a cut-flower garden, a woodland garden, and the entrance / front of the house. All of the plants are highly resistant to deer and all the plants seem to thrive whether it be full sun or heavy shade.
