This was one of the first gardens we planted in the 2019 season. We were contacted by the client in March and at the time their terrace consisted of several mature trees that were temporarily planted in large plastic tubs. We were asked to help them both transplant their beloved trees into new containers, as well as redesign the entire terrace with new planters and new plant material.
This garden is located on West End avenue and overlooks the Hudson River. Because of it’s location it is subject to intensely stressful conditions, the most difficult being the desiccating winds that come off the Hudson. We designed this garden using a variety of plant material that can handle both the blazing hot afternoon sun and the intense winds that relentlessly pass through the garden.
