We planted this terrace which had the challenge of having super shallow beds due to weight issues. We used a variety of ground covers that tolerate shallow soil, despite being in full sun all day. It was designed to have a burst of color in Spring, but there are pockets of seasonal interest throughout the year. The hardscape was designed and installed by Halsted Welles Associates.
